We are currently carrying out newt surveys, initial bat surveys and ecological assessments of new development sites, in preparation for more specialised surveys later in the year. Planned work on conservation sites this year includes vegetation, reptile, woodland and Dormouse monitoring
Churton Ecology is a Shropshire based ecological consultancy offering a wide range of specialist surveys and advice on protected flora and fauna species. Founded in 1998 by Dr. K. Thorne MCIEEM, the consultancy has since evolved into a family run partnership.
We hold the relevant National Resources Wales and Natural England (NE) licences and undertake surveys for a number of key protected species including bats, Great Crested Newt, Dormouse, reptiles, Otter, Water Vole, Badger, breeding birds and Schedule 8 plant species.
We work throughout the UK* covering a range of development and conservation projects and can undertake the surveys necessary to meet ecological planning requirements and to inform any subsequent European Protected Species (EPS) licensing or mitigation that may be necessary.
Using our combined experience we offer confidential protected species advice to a variety of different clients including land agents, homeowners, developers, architects, landscape architects, foresters, environmental consultants, private individuals and conservation bodies alike.
*With bases in both the mid and south-west Shropshire regions we are well placed to cover a wide local area including the unitary boroughs of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, as well as all the adjacent counties (Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Powys and Denbighshire).
